Meet the Creators
Damian Zaila
Since I was a child, I was always curious, resourceful, and eager to find practical solutions. I never particularly enjoyed studying, as traditional teaching methods can sometimes feel tedious and complicated.
Born in Havana, Cuba, Damián Zaila grew up in the neighborhoods of Santa Amalia and Poey, in a humble family. From an early age, he was curious about the world and driven by a desire to seek new opportunities. At the age of 29, he embarked on a 38-day journey through several countries before reaching the United States, where he started from scratch, working in various trades and gradually building his path as an entrepreneur.
Naturally persevering and deeply committed to the values of family, love, and loyalty, Damián drew inspiration from his own experience as an immigrant to create Path to Citizenship.
Together with his business partner, Jorge Fernández, he transformed that idea into an educational game designed to make preparation for U.S. citizenship more dynamic, accessible, and engaging. For Damián, this project represents far more than a business; it is a way of transforming part of his own story into a tool that can help others achieve one of the most important dreams of their lives: becoming citizens of the United States.
That question inspired the idea for Path to Citizenship.
This game offers a different and entertaining way to prepare for this important milestone—turning study time into an engaging experience where you can play, learn, and compete together.
Jorge Fernandez
Born in Cuba, Jorge Fernandez is a formally trained musician, percussionist, pianist, and experienced entrepreneur in the United States.
He has played an active role in the development and conception of this project, primarily leading its logistical, commercial, and legal aspects, from the initial idea through the creation of the final product.
Together with his business partner, he shares the vision of making preparation for U.S. citizenship an easier, more dynamic, and enjoyable experience rather than a tedious and frustrating process. Through this game, they aim to provide an educational and engaging tool for everyone preparing to become a citizen of the United States.

Versatile, Fun, and Different.
The game features two ways to play. The first is the traditional mode, where up to 6 players of different ages can play, move around the board, answer questions, and complete challenges. Card Battle Mode is a faster and more dynamic alternative, where you challenge an opponent to answer questions from the card deck. The winner is the player who accumulates the most correct answers.

The box includes the game board, question cards organized by category, six custom player pieces featuring historical icons, a special protection token, a set of dice, and instruction manuals. Plus, a welcome flag!
